Living in the tension between the now and future plans gets exponentially more difficult the closer you get to the “future”.

On one hand, it is starting to get really exciting. Making plans, talking to people, seeing everything shape up in a more concrete manner.

Yet the frustration of not being able to do it right away gets worse and worse.

Again, I am being taught by God that 1) hurry is not in His nature and 2) there is a season for everything under the sun, including slowing down and preparing for the future.

The preparation stage can feel like we’re not accomplishing much. There’s a lot of waiting involved, and everything in between can feel like a distraction from the “real” thing.

All I can do is try to remember that there is nothing wasted in God’s world and plans. He will use all things for his purposes and glory, including my downtime now.

What I need to do is to live into it, embrace it. It is okay to go slow. To fully live in the moment, and not rush to the next thing.

Daniel is many things to many people, such as pickleballer, listening ear, travel buddy, cafe hopper, advisor, tentmaker, entrepreneur, and one half of Jayndee. But he is first and foremost a child of God.
